Privacy policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
SNED Music (John Sneddon) respects your privacy. This page explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- When you book or buy: your name, email, phone number, billing address and order details, including anything you add in the order notes.
- When you contact us: what you send through the contact form, email, phone or social media.
- If you join the mailing list: your email address and name.
- When you take lessons or courses: notes about your progress, and any files or music you share with John.
- When you visit the website: cookies and similar tools record pages visited, device and browser, and how you arrived, through Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel.
How we use it
To take bookings and payments, run lessons and courses, reply to you, send course follow-ups, send the mailing list if you joined it, and understand which pages and ads work. We never sell your information.
Who else handles it
Payments are processed by Stripe, PayPal, Afterpay and Klarna, so card details go straight to them and are never seen or stored by us. The website is hosted by Compute.nz in New Zealand. Email, analytics and advertising use Google, Meta and Mailchimp, whose servers may be outside Australia. Embedded Instagram, SoundCloud and YouTube content may set their own cookies.
Keeping it safe
The website uses an encrypted connection (https). Access to booking and student records is limited to John.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time from any email. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings. You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, unless we need to keep it by law (for example tax records).
Contact
Privacy questions or requests: john@snedmusic.com or 0449 705 424. If you are not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
